To mend a lace curtain, try ironing a piece of starched net
over the hole.

To make dry shoe polish usable again, set it on the hot
stove until it melts. When cooled, it is like new again.

To keep hands from freezing when hanging clothes on the
line in winter, heat the clothespins in the oven just before using.

"Inexpensive , but Good Paint Remover"
Pour 1 small tin of lye into 1 quart fairly thick starch.
Paint on with old paint brush or rag on the end of a stick. Wash

immediately with hot soapy water.

I use flour to make the starch.

To remove paint from the hands after painting, rub well with
lard, then wash in hot soapy water.
