Marr’s SALAD DreEssInc REcIPE Boox 5 STUFFED APPLE SALAD Paré and core firm apples—one for each serving. Simmer gently in a little water to which tiny red cinnamon candies have been added. These serve for sweetening and give color and flavor. Cool and place on crisp green lettuce leaves. Fill centres with cottage cheese and nuts or chopped raisins and nuts. Add Marr’s Wonder Whip Salad Dressing or if preferred Marr’s Old Fashion Boiled Salad Dressing. Mrs. J. Cross, Rosser, Man. JELLIED POTATO SALAD 1% cups diced cold potatoes 2 cups canned tomatoes 1 tablespoon vinegar ] teaspoon sugar 1% tablespoons gelatin Salt and pepper to taste 14 teaspoon onion juice or flavor 2 sliced or diced hard cooked eggs \% teaspoon bottled sauce 4 cup celery, sliced 3 tablespoons cold water Celery leaves Make an aspic jelly of the tomatoes, gelatin and seasonings. Strain. Fold in the potatoes, egg and celery and mold. Unmold on lettuce or cress and serve with either Marr’s Wonder Whip Salad Dressing or Marr’s Old Fashion Boiled Salad Dressing. HARVEST SALAD 2 apples grated 2 cups shredded cabbage 2 large stalks celery grated 1 ripe tomato sliced 1 cup carrots grated 1 hard boiled egg sliced Salt to taste Marr’s Wonder Whip Salad Dressing Mix apples, celery, carrots and cabbage together and sprinkle with salt. Stir in a generous helping of Marr’s Wonder Whip Salad Dressing. Put into salad bowl and garnish with tomatoes and hard boiled eggs. May also be served individually.
