EGGLESS APPLESAUCE CAKE May Oliver

3/4 c. unsweetened applesauce 1/2 tsp. cloves

1 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 ce butter i ©. PaALSine
1+1/2:c. flour 1/2 c. nuts

1 tsp. soda 1 tsp. vanilla

Dredge raisins and nuts with part of the flour. Mix applesauce and
sugar, add the butter and soda, which has been dissolved in a little
hot water. Beat well. Add vanilla, spices and remaining flour. Add
raisins and nuts. Bake in moderate oven for 50 mins.

BANANA CAKE Diane McIntyre
1/2 c. butter or margarine 1 c. unsifted whole wheat flour
lc. sugar 1/2 tap. salt

2 eggs, Slightly beaten 1 tsp soda

1 c. mashed bananas (3 large) 1/3 c. hot water

1 c. sifted all-purpose flour 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Melt butter, blend in sugar, add beaten eggs and mashed bananas. Add
white flour, sifted with salt and soda. Add whole wheat flour and hot
water. Fold in walnuts. Turn into greased 9x5 loaf pan. Bake in
slow oven 325F for 1 hour or until done.
