I chose it for its reputation, but I struggled. My lectures could have up to 1200 students. My grades fell, and I no longer enjoyed attending classes. I seriously questioned whether I belonged in university. When I came to UFV, I planned to stay only long enough to complete a certificate. But I realized that I actually like learning. Everything is more personal at UFV, like how the professors know my name after the first week, and getting involved is simple. So I’ve transferred into the degree program. — Delaney Minor “ “ “ Not being local, coming to a new place was scary, but I was able to make friends, step out of my bubble and proudly become part of the university. I love the small class sizes and the volunteer opportunities. The smaller class sizes are a huge bonus if you aim to have a high GPA. It gives you time to focus and learn with a smaller group. Also, you get more one-on-one face time with the professors. — Gurvir Singh Gill 48 Go Further with UFV When deciding where to go to school, my friends were telling me how much they enjoyed studying at UFV. I didn’t realize how challenging the program was going to be, but the staff are friendly and they want you to succeed. They’ll help you with anything from figuring out how to study to answering questions about the school. — Roshanna Bradder UFV gave me a solid educational platform to build a dynamic career. I appreciated how teachers were flexible and understood that students often juggle many other things, such as jobs, families, and social lives. UFV provided a truly inspiring learning environment; with small class sizes and dedicated instructors, I felt the education that I received was not just top-quality, but personalized. — Adam Simpson ’06 project management advisor to the United Nations Start your classes in style with a free Macbook Air.
