COCOA DEVIL’S FOOD CAKE (Mixmaster Recipe) 1% cups sifted cake flour 2/3 cup shortening 1% cups sugar 2/3 cup sour milk or % cup cocoa buttermilk %4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla % tsp. soda Beat above ingredients for 2 minutes. Add 1/3 cup sour milk or buttermilk, 2 eggs unbeaten. Beat for 2 minutes more and it is now ready for the pans. Bake in moderate oven (350° F.) 30-35 minutes. —Mrs. Arlene Hunter. THREE-MINUTE CHOCOLATE CAKE Ingredients should be at room temperature. Beat for one minute: 2 eggs, 1% cups sugar. Sift together and add: 2 cups sifted flour, 1 tsp. soda, % tsp. salt. Combine: % cup vinegar, % cup milk, 1 tsp. vanilla. Add % of liquid, % cup shortening and beat one minute. Add remaining liquid and 3 squares chocolate (melted). Beat one minute.
