A wonderful array of vegetables and flowers was the outstanding feature of Sumas district's second exhibition, held at Whatcom road corner on Thursday last, Mrs. York’s hall, in which they were shown, being filled to every corner in an effort to ade- quately show everything. In_ these exhibits, it was estimated that almost twice as much produce was on display as at the first fair. H. J, Barber, M.P. offi jally opened the day, giving a thoughtful talk upon the value of small rural fairs, the social place they fill in the lives of agriculturalists, and the publicity ob- tained for the district in the showing of excellent products and stock.
