Jones of Vancou- ver, were united in marriage. Rev. Angus Cameron was the officiat- ing clergyman. The church was d al witty eiadioll and delphinium. The bride was given in mar- riage by her father, who was in the uniform of the Seaforth Highlanders. For her wedding dress Miss Anderson chose white met over taffeta with starched lace insets and jackets. Her fin- ger-tip veil was held in place by a t of orange The bridal bouquet was of gardenias and stephanotis. Miss Peggy Anderson was her sister's bridesmaid and was attir- ed in a gown of pale pink chif- fon with matching flowered cap. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations. Betty-Jean Roberts was the flower girl and wore white pleated chiffon with match- ing tulle flowered cap. She car- ried a basket of flowers. Cliff Ferguson, brother-in-law of the groom, was the best man, and James Grant and Douglas An- derson were the ushers, During the signing of the register, Mrs. L. Lobban sang “Because.” Miss Janet Golos was at the organ. Immediately after the service a reception was held in the Orange hall with 65 guests present. Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Jones receiv- ed the guests. Mrs. Anderson chose a navy and white ensemble with a large picture hat of stitch- ed taffeta. Her corsage was of cream rosebuds. Gardner - Mathers Mr. and Mrs. Tom Mathers of Abbotsford announce the marri- age of their only daughter, Isa- belle, to Mr, S. W. Gardner, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Gard- ner of Tupper Creek, Peace River. The marriage took place at Ed- monton where the young couple are making their home. The bride, who has taught at Tupper Creek school for the past two years, resigned her position at the closé of the term in June. Newcombe - Israel The Mt. Lehman United Church was the scene of a pretty wedding on Saturday evening when Miss Myrtle Israel was united in mar- riage to Mr. Harold Newcombe, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Newcombe of Lombard. Attended by her sisters, Misses Helen and Ethel Israel as brides- maids, little Doreen Israel as flower girl and her brother Leon- ard Israel as page boy, the bride was giveh in marriage by her father, Mr. A. Israel. Ushers were Misses Edna and Unis Israel, sis- ters of the bride. Following the wedding, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. Mrs. Louis Santano, matron of honor, chose an afternoon frock of nile green sheer with a picture hat of white straw. Pink roses and peach gladiola formed her boguet. Miss Donna Fraser, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. She wore a white linen tailored suit with turban of turquoise blue, and her shower boquet was of pastel sweet peas. Mr. Peers is the son of Mr. and Mrs, Ross Peers of Sumas Prairie. The ceremony was per- formed at the bride’s home by Dr. Edmund Melville Wylie of New York, uncle of the bride. Mr. Wayne Zimmerman gave a yocal selection and Mr. Arthur Lydell layed the nuptial music.
