Hospital closes the-past year with an operating, surplus of $176.23, a decided improvement over the previous year, which resulted in a deficit of $258.50, Although facing an operating debit balance of $467.54, largely incurred during 1923, the hospita nevertheless closes 1924 with liquid assets largely in gxcess of its liabilities. Important is the proportion of maintenance expense which is met by donations. The operating revenue totalled $10,041.60, of whick gum $4,084.50 was received by grants and donation—the Women’s Auxiliary raising $1,087.60. The small balance surplus ifdieates the close financing neccssary to keep the institute going. Printed copies of the hospital aunual report will be available by Sat- urday, and contain some very instructive information about the manner in which our local institution is managed and financed. During the year 164 patients were admitted. Of this number 153 were discharged, six died and eight were carried over to January, 1925. The total number of hospitsl days was 2,293, an average of over 13 days per patient.
