C. E. R. reduce power rates in the Valley to a parity with Burnaby. Aj committee was named to co-operate with Matsqul’s solicitors in pressing the con- test which will undoubtedly reach the courts. Among relevant information brought out at the meeting was that Winnipeg and eastern Canadian cities get electric current for less than one cent a kilowatt that the B.CE. exports power to Blaine, and until recently to Sumas, Wash. and it was there “retailed” at 2 cents per kilowatt and less. Watering of B. C. E. stock from $11,500,000 to $60,000,000 made for the prevailing high rate, it was suggested.
