CHILI CON CARNE 2 tbsp. shortening 1/2 cup chopped onion 1/2 tsp. cloves — 2 - 8 oz. cans tomato sauce 1 lb. ground beef or juice 1 can red kidney beans 1 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. green pepper 1 to 2 tsp. chili powder Brown the meat and cloves until the meat loses its red color. Add beans, onion and peppers (if desired). Pour in tomato sauce. Add salt and chili powder and stir. Simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally, until chili is desired thickness — about 45 minutes or longer. — Iris Johnson QUICK PIZZA 1/3 cup tomato paste 2 hamburger buns halved salt, garlic salt, thyme and oregano 1/3 |b. beef, lightly browned in pan 3/4 cup grated sharp cheese Arrange pizza as follows:— bun, tomato paste cheese, seasonings and meat.
