Shake. —Vic Spencer MAIDEN’S UNDOING Three parts Jamaica rum, 1 dry gin, white of 1 egg, juice of 1 lemon, 1% spoonfuls granulated sugar. Shake well, then add 8 parts crushed ice, then white of egg well beaten. Shake very, very well until cold frost is on the outside of shaker, continue shaking and serve while still in motion. More seductive if you sugar the glasses, which is done by contacting the rim of the glass with lemon and sugar. If you don’t get the effect it 1s your own fault. A million headaches in a glass. —A. Different groups call for different drinks. I have the ingredients and implements to please them all.” Here is his best which he says he serves the least. “THE MORNING AFTER” Juice of % lemon, juice of % lime, 3 dashes absinthe, white of 2 eggs, 2 fingers Scotch whisky, 1 tablespoonful sugar. Shake well and strain into one of O’Connors best glasses and fill with syphon. COL. BLACKSTOCK “Away From Home Cocktail” Use large glass. 4 lumps ice, 1 dash lemon juice, 1 lump sugar, 2 slices pineapple. Fill glass with champagne, 1 dash bitters. Dress with fruit in season, preferably peaches. TORONTO LUCKY MINER Help yourself cocktail, sometimes called Apple Jack Daisy. One part apple jack, 1 part lemon juice, % grenadine.
