~ £09 * HOUSEHOLD HINTS Milk formulas will stain the baby's bib, clothing or other materials. To remove such stains from cotton materials, immediately place garment in clear water to soak, or, if possible, wash in hot, strong soapsuds, so that the stain will not dry in the material. If the stain has been allowed to dry in the fabric, soak | overnight in a bleaching agent, diluted according to directions then wash in hot strong soapsuds. This will. remove all but faint traces of discolouration. Wash stained woolen materials in warm, strong soapsuds but do not use chlorine bleaches, and dry in the sunlight. Baby's white sweaters will stay white and won't turn yellow if you wrap them up in blue tissue paper to store them away. If you have forgotten to take the eggs out of the refrigerator and they are too cold to bake with, just let them stand for about 10 minutes in warm, not hot water. A few slices of raw potatoes added to the fat when you are frying fish will absorb all the unpleasant odor and the fat may be used again. Don't discard those large shortening cans...they make good containers for freezing soups and stews, etc. On busy days, just set directly over low heat, then serve. Uses for plastic bottles: - Cut down to about % inch from the bottom and use as saucers under plants. - Cut the top part off the bottle and use it to protect bedding plants. - Cut the top off 4 to 5 inches from the bottom and use as pet dishes, - Cut down to desired sizes and use bottles to freeze left overs. - Store curlers in them or use them as waste paper baskets. g¢«
