Sweet Potato Casserole 22 oz. can sweet potatoes ¥ C. brown sugar 1 1b. pork sausages (or fried 1 t. salt pork chops) 7 pepper 2 med. apples, sliced nutmeg Pan-fry sausages just to brown on all sides. Drain well. Cut potatoes into %-inch slices. Put half the potatoes - into buttered 1% qt. baking dish. Cover with half the apples and half the sugar. Sprinkle lightly with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Repeat the layers. Top with sausages. Bake in a 350°F. oven for 1 hour or until apples are tender (serves 6). 10. Yegetable Chop Suey Ss towel 19 oz. can bean sprouts 1 onion, sliced 1% C. roast pork or chicken 1 carrot envelope chow mein noodles *% green pepper optional: green beans, 1 stalk celery zuccini or peas, pineapple chunks or orange pieces Cut carrot in sticks, green pepper in strips, celery in diagonal pieces. Fry with onion in oil briefly. Stir in bean sprouts, pork or chicken. Then stir ina chow mein noodles. Season to taste. Heat thoroughly. Serve with rice and soya sauce. |
