HEAVENLY HALO FROSTING (no cook frosting) ¥% cup sugar 14 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 egg white (unbeaten) 4 cup boiling water Food coloring 1% cups coconut Place sugar, cream of tartar, vanilla and egg white in small deep bowl. Mix well. Add boiling water. Beat with egg beater or electric beater at high speed until mixture stands in stiff peaks, about 4 or 5 minutes. Add a few drops of coloring to tint if desired. Spread between layers and on top and sides of cake. Sprinkle generously with coconut. Makes 3 cups of frosting, or enough to cover tops and sides of two 8-inch layers. Set aside and allow to cool. Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla, then flour mixture and beat well. This never hardens.
