When this forms a soft lump tried in cold water, stir in the vanilla and remove from heat. Have ready the cornflakes, Rice Krispies, coconut and salted peanuts in a large bowl. Pour syrup mixture over this immediately. Press into a greased pan and allow to set a few hourse Cut as desired. This is different and delicious. MAPLE WALNUT BARS Linda DeJong BASE: 2 ce flour 1/2 tspe salt 1/2 ce powdered sugar 1 ce margarine FILLING : 8 eggs, beaten 2 tspe baking powder 3 ce brown sugar 1 tspe salt 1 ce flour 1/2 tspe melted margarine 2 tspe maple 2 ce nuts Mix base and press into two 9 x 12 inch pans. Bake at 350° oven for 10 minutes. Mix filling and pour over base. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. Cool. Frost with the following icing: 6 tablespoons butter, 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon maple flavoring and 2 tablespoons milk. Beat together and then add 1 more cup of powdered sugar.
