Serve with picks. CRISPY CHEESE PUFFS By C. S. REID lo cup butter 14 tsp. paprika 1 egg, separated 4 cup bran 14 lb. grated cheese 24 115-inch cubes of fresh 1% tsp. salt bread (cut from unsliced 4 tsp. dry mustard loaf) Cream butter, add egg yolk and mix well. Add cheese, seasonings and bran; mix thoroughly. Add stiffly beaten egg whites and blend well. Spread mixture on five sides of bread cubes. Arrange on baking sheet. Bake in a moderate oven (350 degrees F.) 12 to 15 minutes. NIPPY CHEESE DIP By MRS. M. E. STEVENSON 1 3-0oz. package cream cheese 5 tbsp. chopped ripe olives 3 oz. blue cheese 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp. minced onion Mash cream cheese with a fork. Add crumbled blue cheese and sauce to make of spreading consistency. Add onion and chopped olives. Mix thoroughly. Pile lightly in bowl, sprinkle with paprika and surround CANAPES 1. Top toast fingers with savoury mustard butter and small whole sar- dines. Garnish with strips of pimiento and pepper cress. 2. Spread bread shapes with a mixture of cream cheese and chives, top with sliced stuffed olives. 3. Spread toast circles with peanut butter, sprinkle with grated cheese and top with small square of bacon. Broil until bacon is crisp and cheese is melted. Garnish with thin slices of gherkins. 4. Spread large potato chips with fish, egg, meat or cheese mixtures and ~ sprinkle with paprika, chopped parsley or nuts. ANCHOVY CANAPES 4 large anchovies 8 toast rounds 1 pkg. (3 oz.) cream cheese _Sieved hard-cooked egg yolk 2 tbsp. chopped pimiento | Mash anchovies; blend with cream cheese and pimiento. Spread on toast. Garnish with border of egg yolk. Serves 8. HOT TUNA CANAPES Mix flaked tuna with mayonnaise or salad dressing; add chopped stuffed olives. Season with Worcestershire sauce. Spread on toast strips; sprinkle with grated American cheese. Place under broiler unit or burner until cheese is melted. Serve hot.
