ee a ee ee ee ee A ‘Kiwassa Girls ' Club It has been said, “The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.” It has also been said, “Save a boy and you save a man but save a girl and you save a family.” Because Vancouver Kiwassa Club members foresaw the value of an investment whereby girls might meet and grow in health, happiness and responsibility, they opened a Club House for Girls in the east end of Vancouver. ‘The original plan was that a room would be rented, pleasantly furnished and provided with books, magazines, music, etc. However, when the club became a reality, it was much more than that. In a community where there was a definite need there was available an old fire hall recently vacated by a boys’ club. Months of work by Kiwassa members transformed this building into attractive, home-like surroundings.
