FEATHERY FUDGE CAKE % cup butter 1% cups sugar 2 eggs tsp. salt cup ice water tsp. vanilla 2 oz. unsweetened tsp. soda chocolate, melted cups sifted cake flour Stir butter, gradually add sugar. Cream until light and fluffy. Add one egg at a time. Blend in cooled chocolate plus vanilla. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture, alternately with ice water. BOILED RAISIN COOKIES OE nell ell nell ©) Cream: 1% cups shortening 2 cups brown sugar 2 cups boiled raisins % tsp. salt 2 tsp. soda 4% cup nuts 4 eges 4 cups flour Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and the raisins while still hot. Add the rest of the ingredients. Drop by spoonful to bake. Note: When boiling raisins, barely cover with water and simmer for ten minutes after a quick boil and then add soda. Bake at 375° for 12- 15 minutes, - Alderman Evelyn Edwards, Saskatoon, Sask. GINGER SNAPS * cup molasses 3/4 cup shortening % cup golden syrup Put on stove and boil for 1 minute. Take off and add 1 rounded tsp. soda. Let cool and add 2 cups flour and 1 tsp. ginger. Chill. Roll or form into small balls and flatten with tumbler. Bake at 350° about 12 minutes. Watch carefully.
