CAKES ‘ 4 } POPCORN CAKE Linda DeJong 1 ce popcorn, popped | 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1 lge can Planter peanuts 1/2 ce sugar l lge pkge plain M & M's 1 T. butter 1 ce white Karo syrup . 1/4 tspe soda Let syrup, cream of tartar, sugar and butter boil 1 minute. Add soda; let foam up and pour over dry ingredients. Stir good and pack into angel food pan. Chill 1 hour and slice or may make popcorn balls. ORANGE CAKE | Mrs. Sinnema 420 gram flour 30 gram orange peel, chopped 300 gram light brown sugar | 100 gram water 120 gram margarine or butter 6 gram baking powder, 1 tsp. 6 gram lemon extract or lemon peel, chopped Mix water, sugar and butter in saucepan and bring to boil. Add flour, lemon and orange peel. Cool. Add baking powder and knead thoroughly. Grease baking sheet, cover with wax paper, greasing wax paper, Flatten dough out 1/2 inch thick. Beat egg and brush over cake before baking at 350° to 380° for 1/2 hour. Mix 100 gram icing sugar, 1 tablespoon cold water and color dropse Spread on cake. Cream 150 gram butter and 100 gram icing sugar. Use mixture to decorate top of cake with lettering or roses, etc. SPICE CAKE Ineke VanEk 2 ce flour 1/2 tspe cloves 1 ce sugar 1/2 tsp. cinnamon l tsp. baking powder 1 T. corn syrup 1 tsp. baking soda 1 egg 1/2 tspe nutmeg 1 ce milk 1/2 tsp. ginger Mix all ingredients together. Bake 45 minutes in a 350° ovene
