SAUCES BARBECUB SAUCE 1 onion (cooked in butter or lard) 1/2 c. catsup 1/l c. vinegar 1 tsp. H.P. sauce 1 tbsp. brown sugar 1/2 c. water Cook for about 5 minutes. Parboil sausages for 15 minutes. Then put them in the sauce and simmer for 1/2 to 1 hour. Wieners can be cooked in this sauce - they don't need parboiling. This sauce can also be poured over meat loaf before putting it in the oven. SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE (for Spareribs, Meat Loaf or Short Ribs) 1/h c. vinegar 1/h c. water 1 tbsp. catsup 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 tsp. corn starch Put ingredients together in sauce pan. LEMON SYRUP 3 lemons h oranges 2 0%. citric acid h- 5 c. sugar 5 c. boiling water Grate rinds of oranges and lemons. Add citric acid and let stand for 10 minutes. .\dd sugsr and boiling water to rind. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Cool. Add juice of oranges and lemons. Strain and store in refrigerator.
