aGW TO REMOVE SPOTS & STAINS May Oliver Ro Before starting to remove stain from fabric, test fabric on inside seam or swatch of the material. When using commercial bleaches, follow label instructions carefully. All stains are more easily removed while fresh. Identify the stain. TYPE OF STAIN INSTRUCTIONS BLOOD Cotten or Linen. Soak in cold water. Wash in warm soapy water. Lf stubborn stain, use 1/4 c. salt to 2 c. cold water, DO NOT use hot water first. Osher washables ~ sponge with cold water. Non-washables ~ sponge with cold water. CANDLE WAX Cotton or jiinen — Scrape off excess wax. Place on blot— ting paper and press with hot iron. Sponge with non- inflammable dry cleaning solution or solvent. Other was ables — as above, but sponge with carbon tevrachloride. Non-Weshables — same method. Test fabric. CHEWING GUM Cotton or Linen ~ nub with piece of ice and scrape off Wits blurt knife. Soften any remaining gum with white of egg and wash. If stain remains, sponge with non- inflammable dry cleaning solution or solvent. Other washables ~ Chill with ice and scrape off gum. Oe ee Sponge with non-inflammable solution or solvent. Non—Wasnables ~- Sponge with carbon tetrachloride.
