Mrs. Bob Laughington PINEAPPLE SWEET AND SOUR 2 lb. pork spareribs 1/2 c. cooking oil 2 Tbsp. soy sauce lc. water small sliver of garlic 1/2 c, brown sugar 4 tsp. cornstarch 1/3 c. vinegar 1 #2 can pineapple chunks 1 green pepper, cut in inch pieces 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. soy sauce Have butcher cut ribs crosswise into 1 1/2 inch pieces, then cut into single ribs, Heat oil in pan with tight fitting lid such as a Dutch oven. Add a few pieces of rib at a time, fry until browned on all sides. When all are done, drain off fat. Add 2 tablespoons soy sauce, water and garlic. Cover and cook until liquid is absorbed, about 40 minutes. Combine brown sugar, cornstarch, vinegar, 3/4 cup syrup drained from pineapple, salt and soy sauce, Cook and stir until thickened and clear. Add the pineapple and green pepper, heat and pour over ribs. Cook 2 minutes longer. Make sauce by mixing together the Sugar, mustard, vinegar and then pour sauce over loaf. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 1 and 1/2 hours.
