DANISH VANILLERINGS 1 1/2 lb. margarine 3 eggs 9c. flour 3 tsp. vanilla 1 tb. sugar Mix margarine, flour and sugar. Put in eggs and va- nilla, mix and keep cold. - Shape in littie rings or "S". Bake until light brown. Makes about 12 dozen. Mrs. E. Nielsen COCONUT-GUMDROP COOKIES lc. shortening 1/2 tsp. salt 1c. brown sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. white sugar il tsp. baking soda 2 eggs ltsp. baking powder 1c. shredded coconut 4&, Tour 1c. smail gumdrops 2c. rolled oats Cream shortening, add sugar. Cream thoroughly. Add eggs, Add coconut and cut up gumdrops and vanilla. Mix well. Add flour and rolled oats. Shape into balis, with tines of floured fork, Bake on greased cookie sheet in moderate oven, 350 de- grees, for 15 to 20 minutes. Yield: 5 dozen cookies. Mrs. H. Faike PORCUPINE COOKIES 1c, chopped walnut meats 1 Tbsp. melted butter 2 c. chopped pitted dates 2 eggs 1 1/2 c. shredded coconut 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. brown sugar Mix dates, walnuts and 1 1/2 cups coconut, Add brown sugar, melted butter and blend well. Add 1 egg, unbeaten, at a time to the mixture and blend each in thoroughly. Add va- nilla with the last egg. Form dough into balls and roll in shredded coconut.
