Monday's meeting of the Abbotsford

during which several details of civie
business were discussed.

Correspondence read disclosed the
following information:

That the communities of Langley and
Stewart were contemplating incorpora-
ting under the Village Municipalities
Act, and, through their Boards of Trade
desired to learn Abbotsford’s experience
after two years’ trial.

The C.P.R. gave notice of appeal
against an assessment of $15,000 for its
Abbotsford properties, and offered to
compromise on a valuation of $9,000.
After the Clerk had communicated with
the C.P.R. listing the properties includ-
ed in the assessment, the appeal was
withdrawn, =

The Provineial Government road fore-
man had been notified of the dangerous
ditch on the Yale road adjoining the
Bank of Montreal,

The 1926 dog tags had arrived.

Authority had been received from
the Inspector of Municipalities to in-
stall the light petitioned for under the
G.N.R. trestle over Montrose avenue.

The Clerk had replied to the Tnspec-
tor of Municipalities’ request for a
census report of the village. Clerk
Hayes reportéd that Abbotsford con-

tained 117 buildings apd a population
of 450 persdns.

Contractor Inving had finished the
water-tank frame structure Cr. Higgin-
}| Son reported, who recommended that the
tank be ordered at once from the Pa-
cifie Pipe Co. of Vancouver. This unit
will have a capacity of 30,000 gallons,
and will be kept filled by a reciproca-
ting pump operated by a one-horse-
power motor. On the suggestion of W.
H. Hudson the Commissioners will in-
vestigate the action of the pump seleect-
ed to make sure that it would not cause
a vibrating thud to travel through the
Pipes and annoy consumers connected
to the service.
