7. Tomato Juice Crumb Cake

2 C. flour 1 t. cloves

1 C. sugar - 1 C. tomato juice

2/3 Cc. butter | l egg

1 t. soda | 1 Cc. raisins

1 t. cinnamon : 1 C. currants or nuts

Mix together flour and sugar, add butter and rub until.
fine crumbs. Take out 1 cup of crumbs and reserve for
topping. To the rest of the crumb mixture, add soda,
cinn2mon, .cloves and tomato juice and beaten egg. Add
fruit. Turn into well greased pan and ‘spread the cup —
of reserved crumbs on top. Bake 350°F. for 50 minutes.
Allow to cool in pan. ; agg

8. Crazy Chocolate Cake

* C. cocoa a 1 egg

+ C. shortening + C. sour milk or butter-
+ C. boiling water milk |
1 t. vanilla 1 t. soda

1 C. sugar 1% Cc. flour

pinch of salt * t. baking powder

Mix ingredients in order given, combining the sour milk
and soda together, and the flour and baking powder
together as you are adding. Bake in 350°F.. in greased
square or small tube pan. . .
