CRUMB CAKE 2:¢. flour lc. ‘raisins; nuts; 1 c. brown sugar dates, peel & currants 4c. butter (all or any of these) 3/4 c. sour milk 1 tsp. soda Mix together the first 3 ingredients to resemble pie crust. Take out 1/3 of this mixture for a topping. To the remainder add 1c. of the fruit mixture, the sour milk into which the soda has been dissolved. Spread in a pan and sprinkle with the crumbs. Bake in a moderate oven for approximately 40 minutes. Ethel Gosling JELLY ROLL 7 eggs “1c. flour (cake 1 c. white sugar flour is best) 4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla Beat egg whites very stiff. Add sugar and beat well. Add salt, vanilla and egg yolks. Beat with mixing spoon. Add flour and baking powder. Beat until smooth. Use pan greased and lined, about 18x23 inches. Bake at 425 degrees for about 8 minutes.
