Cut peeled banana in half and stand half banana upright on pineapple slice. Pour salad dressing over banana to represent dripping wax and place a red cherry on top, to represent candle light. Serve cold on individual plates. Stuffed Prune Salad Wash and cook large prunes. When cooked and cold, re- move pits and stuff with cottage or creamed cheese. Nuts may be mixed with the cheese if desired. Dissolve | package lemon jelly as per direction on package. Set in individual cups and when jelly begins to harden press | prune, with open side down, in top of each individual mould, so as to have prune, with open side up, in bottom of mould when ready to serve. When well set, remove from mould and serve on chilled lettuce leaves with salad dressing. Stuffed dates could be used instead of prunes, if desired. Yum Yum Pineapple Salad 2 ec. crushed pineapple Y, pt. cream, whipped 1 c. sugar 2 T. gelatine Juice of 1 lemon 1 c. grated cheese Y, c. cold water Heat pineapple, add lemon juice and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Soak gelatine in cold water 10 minutes and add to hot mixture. When cool and beginning to set, add grated cheese and whipped cream. Mix thoroughly and put in moulds, place in refrigerator and chill. Serve on lettuce. Dressing: Mix 2 T. finely-chopped celery and 2 T. finely-chopped green peppers, '4 c. mayonnaise dressing and a few drops of onion juice. Date and Cheese Salad 1 c. dates Y, ce. grated cheese 4 c. walnuts 1 c. celery, diced 1 c. apple, diced 1 T. lemon juice Mix together cheese and finely chopped nuts. Stuff dates with this mixture. Let stand several hours then slice. Sprinkle apples with lemon juice as soon as cut, add sliced dates and celery to apples. Mix altogether with salad dressing to which has been added an equal amount of whipped cream. Serve on lettuce leaf. Shrimp Salad Finely grated cabbage 2 ripe peaches 1 apple 2 doz. white grapes 2 pears 1 tin shrimp Pour juice off shrimp and spread over first five ingredients, which have been cut and mixed together. Cover with a mild salad dressing, which has been mixed with whipped cream. 50
