Smaller is better when in comes to computers. CIS program head Wayne Welsh holds the 8 mm cassette needed to back up the new, more powerful and compact, Vax computer, which sits ona shelf behind him. Computer Services director Terry Cox holds the 34 nine-track reels necessary to back up the old Vax system, which stands on the floor behind him. Bus. admin. golf goof-off By Brian Coulter Who says accountants are dull, boring people who lack athletic ability? That wasn’t the story at the Second Semi-Annual Business Administration Golf Goof Off, held September 11 at Aquadel Golf Course at Lindell Beach. Accounting instructor Janet Falk took top honours in the par three tournament by bringing in a score card of only 69. Tied for second place was Chilliwack accounting instructor Dave Duke, who racked up 70 strokes to match Computer Information Systems program head Wayne Welsh. Third best score was again a tie between accounting/finance instructor Lachlan Whatley and program head Brian Coulter, who both shot 82. Both Whatley and Coulter managed to hit balls against two separate houses along the course, narrowly missing a window in one case and denting a drain pipe in the other. ; The accountants came out on top again in the longest drive category, won by tax instructor Randall Hay. Twenty business instructors, their significant others, and friends enjoyed a round of 18 holes. Thanks go to departmental assistant Patty Brhelle for organizing the tournament and for some great prizes. Special thanks to Janet Falk for more prize selections and for being the master of ceremonies at the burger and beer banquet that followed. . Business Administration extends a challenge to other departments to meet on the links for a tournament later this fall or early next spring.
