FUDGE CAKE 13/4 c. flour l tsp. vanilla 11/2 c. sugar 2 oz. grated chocolate 1/2 c. butter 11/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1/2 c. sweet milk Il tsp. soda, dissolved 2 eggs Just before adding the soda, add to ingredients, 3/4 c. boiling water. Bake in 2 layer or bake as an ordinary cake. Fill with the following filling: 1/8 c. grated chocolate 1/2 c. sweet milk lc. sugar butter size of 1/2 egg Boil until thick enough to spread on cake without running. Add | tsp. vanilla before spreading on cake. This is a fine cake. Walnuts may be added. Mrs. C.
