Mix and sift dry ingredients ; add melted Crisco, then egg and milk. Mix well and bake in a well Criscoed pan in a hot oven. Time depends upon thickness of loaf. CRACKLING BREAD 2 cups cornmeal, 1 cup cracklings, 2% teaspoons salt, boiling water.
