ROYAL CITY BUSES WILL BEGIN ON DECEMBER 15 Buses will begin operation in New Westminster about December 15 When the new cross-town line will be inaugurated by the B. C. Electric Railway as the first step in the plan to substitute buses for street cars. KE. W. Arnott, transportation man-, ager for the company, announceu this when he met members of ‘the } City Council at a special meeting to arrange details of the service, The new line will be four miles in length with its westerh terminus at Twentieth street and Bight avgnue. It will run across the upper sec- tion of the city to its eastern ter- minus at Braid and Columbia streets. The route will be along Bighth ave- nue to Sixth street, then along the latter street to Sixth avenue, tapping the up-town business sections. The route will travel Sixth avenue to Cumberland and Richmond streets, Mr, Arnott agreed to give a 20- minute service on week days on this line With two buses. The buses will have 21-passenger capacity. A three-day check-up of street car traffic is being made in the city lines now, said Mr. Arnott, to finally termine the schedules.
