PETERS, Owners Abbotsford Wolf Cubs Have Four Patrols The Pack was organized on May 19 by Cub-master -Snashall, of the 4th Vancouver (Pathfinder) Pack, and the first meting was spent in explaining the meaning of ‘‘ Wolf Cub’’ to nine- teen prospective ‘‘Cubs.’’ A Wolf Cub is a junior scout. The name Wolf Cub was-chosen because a small boy likes to make-believe, and Wolf appealed to his imagination. The Cub program en- ables him to ‘‘make believe’’ for an object, and that object is good citizen- ship. The programme carries the boy through twelve subjects of study, for excellency in which Proficiency Badges are awarded. These are granted under the heads of: character, handicraft, including elementary first aid. To date twenty-five boys have been enrolled, which is all the Pack can handle for the present. The following boys passed their “Ten- derfoot Tests’? on Monday June 2nd.: G. Thornthwaite, T. Irvine, F. Brown, B. Hill, J. Trethewey, B. Webster, B. Spring, L. Bailey, @. MeGowan, F. White, and on June 9th these boys will be sworn in as real Wolf Cubs. The Pack is split up into patrols, or ‘*sixes’’, of which there are four. The leaders with the names of their pat- trols are: Silver Wolves, R. Webster; Grey Wolves, G. McGowan; White Wol- ves, B. Spring; Red Wolves, J. Treth- ewey. R. Webster is Senior Sixer, or Pack leader, and because of this was sworn in on Monday tp make it pos- sible for him to help with the cerem- ony on June 9th. Parents and friends of the boys are cordially invited to be present at any of the Pack meetings, which will be held every Monday at 6,30 p.m. in St. Matthew’s Parish Hall. The Cub pro- gramme calls for a great deal of noise, and if there is any doubt of the suc- cess of such a programme, stand with- in half a mile radius of the Parish Hall any Monday evening. <-> Mrs. Thorn Snr. has returned from a holiday of two weeks spent at White Rock, and is much improved in health. eee Mr. Horn is selling his tomato plants at five cents each instead of fifteen cents each, as advertised in this paper last week, Already Mr. Horn has disposed of over five hundred of these hardy plants mene |? 10°!) ear teners within the last two ee a Bungalow Inn — Garage Ch a ee _We have Just Opened and Want Your Business; Here’s a Few of Our Rates: FORD—Complete Engine Overhaul, n Labor ‘Charge : - $20.00 z FORD—Relining Brake Bands, all models, labor charge $4.50 BORD—Rear End Overhaul, labor Cf) ie eae ee $6.00 Front System Overhaul, labor charge $3.00 Battery Charging ......... 90 cents - GREGORY TIRES Matsqui’s Modern Garage Os, Greases, Gasoline, Accessories Summer Excursions LOW FARES TO PRAIRIE POINTS EASTERN CANADA CENTRAL AND EASTERN STATES Optional Routes - Stopovers - Side Trips ; ENQUIRE ABOUT THE Triangle Tours WANCOUVER - PRINCE RUPERT. . —~ 7 « A.Delightful Rail and Water Trip VANCOUVER TOURIST AND TRAVEL BUREAU—527 GRANVILLE STREET weeks, —— Nels Olund is erecting a five-room bungalow for P.
