QUINTON CRAWFORD 2 cups marshmallows 1% cup cherries 1% cup dates 1 cup chopped nuts - Cut Marshmallows in double boiler. Melt. Mix in cut dates, nuts and cherries. Make into balls and roll in shredded cocoanut. Leave to set on waxed paper. 7 VANILLA CHIP COOKIES By MRS. FRANK CURRIE 1 cup shortening 2 cups flour 14 cup white sugar 4 tsp. salt 1% cup brown sugar 34 cup fine cocoanut 1 egg slightly beaten 1 cup chocolate chips l4 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla l4 tsp. cream tartar Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg, then dry ingredients. Flatten with fork dipped in cold water. Bake in 350° oven. WALNUT SLICE By MRS. E. M. GUEHO 1 cup flour 2 tbsp. brown sugar 14 cup butter Mix the above ingredients together, press into buttered pan and bake in moderate oven until light brown. Then add topping. Topping: 2 eggs 2 tbsp. flour Vanilla 1% tsp. baking powder Y% cup cocoanut 114 cups brown sugar 1 cup walnuts Beat the eggs and vanilla until creamy, then add other ingredients. Spread on first mixture and bake again in slow oven 30 to 45 minutes.
