MARVEL PENUCHI 2 c. brown sugar 4c. chopped walnuts 4 C. water 4 tsp. vanilla 4 c. Eagle brand evaporated milk Mix brown sugar and water in a large pan and bring to a boil. Add Eagle brand milk and boil over a low flame until mixture will form a firm ball when tested in cold water. Stir mixture constantly to prevent burning. Remove from fire and add chopped nuts. Beat until thick and creamy. Pour into buttered pans.When cool, cut into squares. This never fails if Eagle brand is used. Florence Garnet FRUIT SALAD (CANNED) 1 dozen pears 1 dozen peaches 2 cantaloupes 1 large tin pineapple 2 small bottles chunks maraschino cherries Juice of 2 lemons (drained) (optional ) Peel and dice pears and peaches and cantaloupes. Add pineapple and juice and drained cherries and lemon juice. Measure mixed fruits and add 1c. of white Sugar to each 3 c. of fruit. Mix thoroughly and let stand 3 or 4 hours till juice is formed.
