Pancakes and waffles and other Quick Breads are delicious served with butter and ROGERS’ GOLDEN SYRUP. Pancakes Sift dry ingredients. Beat egg, add milk and ROGERS’ GOLDEN SYRUP, blend with dry ingredients. Beat thoroughly, add melted butter. Drop by spoonfuls onto well-greased hot griddle iron. When full of bubbles, and cooked on edges, turn and cook on the other side. Serve with plenty of warm ROGERS’ GOLDEN SYRUP. Date and Nut Loaf Put dates, syrup and salt in a bowl. Add boiling water and stir, then let stand until cool. Add well-beaten egg and vanilla. Sift dry ingredi- ents, add to date mixture, stirring as little as possible. Add nuts and oil. Pour into loaf pan 9” x 5” x 3”, lined with waxed paper and oiled with oil. Let stand for 20 minutes, then bake in a moderate oven, 325 deg. F. for 1 hour.
