To Defrost — Plan to defrost when there is a small load of food in the freezer section. To keep food as cold as possible during the defrosting period, use the ice cubes in the freezer and wrap the food packages in newspaper. Turn the temperature controlto **OFF’’. Place a 3 or 4 quart container under drain opening from top freezer section. Place pans of hot water (not boiling)in freezer section (do not use this method if your machine has a porcelain freezing unit). As water cools, replace with more hot water. When all the frost has melted away, clean and wipe dry the interior of the freezer section. Remove and clean the defrost pan and drip tray. Reset temperature control. To Clean Refrigerator — Wash interior with a solution of 1 table- spoon of baking sodatol1 quart of warm water. Therubber gasket should be kept free from grease. Dry well after washing. Wash ice cube trays in warm (not hot) soapy water. Rinse well and refill. Do not pour hot water in a glass drip tray. Wash exterior of the cabinet with warm water and a mild soap or detergent. Wax with a special refrigerator wax. Follow manufacturer’s directions for cleaning condenser. This can be done every six months with a vacuum cleaner. 10M-9-65
