ROLLS, PIES, PASTRIES BUNS soak: 2 pkg. yeast 2 tsp. sugar 1 c. warm water When light, add to: 1/2 c. sugar 2 tsp. salt ‘2 Tbsp. melted shortening 3 c. boiled water (cooled) 2 eggs, well beaten Mix in flour till it can be handled easily. Let rise until light and put in pans. Let rise again and put in moderate oven and bake. Add raisins, if desired. Mrs. A. M. Burns BISCUITS 2c. flour 3 Tbsp. fat - 4 tsp. baking powder 3/4 to 1c. milk ' 1/2 tsp. salt Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Cut in fat, this may be lard or vegetable shortening. When the mixture is in lumps the size of peas, add the milk all at once. Mix well together and turn dough out on floured board. Knead 20 to 30 strokes. Roll 3/8 inch thick and cut with biscuit cutter. Bake at 450 degrees for 12 minutes. Makes 16-18 biscuits. L. Marie Regehr CINNAMON BUNS 2 pkg. yeast 7 c. sifted flour 1 c. milk (scalded and 6 Tbsp. lard or butter cooled) 1/2 c. sugar 1 c. lukewarm water 3 eggs 1 Tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt Dissolve yeast cakes and sugar in lukewarm liquid. Add 3 cups flour and beat until smooth. Add lard or butter, sugar,salt, and eggs and beat well. Add remains of flour gradually, or enough to make dough.
