42 RAISIN COOKIES Adrie Oldenburger 2 ce raisins 4 ce flour 1 ce boiling water 1 tspe baking powder 1 ce shortening | 1 tsp. baking soda 2 Ce sugar 2 tsp. salt 3 eggs, beaten 1 1/2 tspe cinnamon 1 tspe vanilla 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1 ce chopped walnuts 1/4 tspe allspice Simmer raisins and boiling water 5 minutes. Coole Cream together sugar, shortening, eggs and vanilla. Mix dry ingred- ients. Blend together. Bake at 400° for 10 to 12 minutes. HOLIDAY RECIPE FOR A BUSY MOTHER Jessica Hoogland 1 cup butter, find Brad's shoe, melt butter, tie Brad's shoe. Spread peanut butter on three slices bread for 3 small children. Rescue over brown butter from stove. Add 1 1/2 cups sugar to butter. Get 2 eggs and some milk from fridge, pour 3 glasses of milk to rinse down peanut butter. Wipe up first spilled glass. Mop off egg, which rolled off counter and get another egg from fridge and add to butter and sugar. Get small children interested in coloring and spell words for first grader. Sift 2 1/2 cups flour with 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Measure 1 cup oatmeal, take marble out of baby's mouth. Ask someone if you added 1 or 2 cups oatmeal to batter. Screaming may help at this time, but it is time consuming. Find recipe in pile of drawings and continue. Measure 1 cup cornflakes, 1 cup coconut. Big children want to know if cookies are baked yet. The dog, George, is in the way so move to outside. Put batter in fridge to chill. Peel 3 oranges for children. Mop up counter, table, floor and cupboard door. George is let in. Remove batter and George's nose from fridge. Wash hands, drop cookies on pan and put in hot oven. Allow children to help drop cookies and forget blobs on floor. George will take care of them. Repeat procedure until all is baked. At this point, mop up table, floor and counter.
