Combine milk, egg, sugar and vanilla and pour over dates. Bake at 450F for 10 min. Reduce heat to 350F and bake until custard sets. RAISIN PIE Kay Baher 9" pie shell, baked 1-1/2 c. sultanas 1 ¢. water 1/2 c. sugar (brown or white) tbsp. butter tbsp. flour egg yolks tsp. grated lemon rind tbsp. lemon juice Wi DOM DO Cook raisins and water until raisins are soft. Add sugar. Cool half of mixture and stir in gently the butter and flour. Return to saucepan and cook over low heat until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in egg yolks, lemon rind and lemon juice. Cool and fill pie shell. Cover with meringue and brown.
