CHIP MARGUERY CAKF, e Cs shortening 1 ec. skim milk 14 e. white sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 2+ ec. sifted cake flour ° & @o shaved sweet baking chocolate 3 tsp. baking powder (I use 2 squares) * tsp. salt 3 egg whites Cream shortening. Add i1 cup of the sugar gradually and eream thoroughly. Sift flour, baking powder and salt, — add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Blend in vanilla. Fold in shaved chocolate. Beat egg whites until stiff and gradually beat into them the remaining sugar. Fold into batter. Bake 50 - 55 minutes at 350° in two layer pans or one oblong pan. Esther Paul
