ONIONS Sprinkle onions with a little sugar. Helps to brown them quickly and evenly OVENS Remove bright metal racks and leave a dish of liquid ammonia in the oven overnight. Rinse and wash the next day. PACKAGING Place popped popcorn between the article and the box to prevent breakage. PAINT To remove paint from clothing, sponge with carbon tetrachloride. To remove paint from glass, use hot vinegar. To remove paint from coloured material, dip the stains in turpentine, rub, then dip in a little ammonia, rub, and wash in warm water. To remove wet paint from white material wash the stain with soap and water and boil with a small amount of paraffin in the water. Dry paint on white material can easily be removed by steeping the stain in turpentine. Rub well and wash in the ordinary way. If fresh, use lots of hot suds. Otherwise, apply turpentine, or lard and then wash in hot suds. Scrape off excess. If dried soften with vaseline. Sponge with turpentine or paint remover. Launder in warm suds. Sponge with turpentine or carbon tetrachloride. PAINT BRUSHES Dried paint brushes can be cleaned by letting the brush simmer in white vinegar for 10 minutes. If paint brushes have become hard with paint. allow them to soak for an hour or so in turpentine; then squeeze the bristles between the fingers until all the paint has been removed. After this treatment rinse the brushes in a fresh bath of turpentine. To soften paint brushes use: 1. varnish remover. 2. paint thinner. 3. vinegar and boil. 4. varsol. PANTS To soften baby’s rubber pants use glycerine. PERSPIRATION Rinse or sponge the stain thoroughly with cold water, then apply lemon et vinegar and rinse again in cold water. Dry in sun. If stain persists, each. Soak in cold water immediately. If stain persists, soak in diluted luke- ana ammonia solution. Rinse. Work in meat tenderizer. Rinse and aunder. -j}/ -—
