Chocolate Refrigerator Cookies 2 cups once sifted pastry flour or 1% cups once sifted all purpose flour Y2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking powder Y2 cup cocoa 10 T. shortening 1 cup lightly packed brown sugar Y2 cup corn syrup 1 egg well beaten Y2 tsp. vanilla Sift together 3 times the flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa. Cream shortening, blend in brown sugar. Beat in corn syrup, add well beaten egg, a little at a time, beating after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture a little at a time, combining thoroughly after each addition. Form dough into 2 long cylinders about 2 inches in diameter and wrap closely in waxed paper.
