32 Marr’s SALAD DreEssInc ReEciPE Book EMERALD ISLE SALAD 1 cup raw carrot, grated 1 cup apple, chopped fine 2 cups diced cold Iamb Pinch of salt Mint jelly Lettuce Marr’s Wonder Whip Salad Dressing Mix carrot, apple, salt and lamb. Pile lightly on a lettuce leaf. In the centre place one teaspoon of mint jelly surrounded with Marr’s Wonder Whip Salad Dressing. Serves six. Miss Elsie Stewart, Arden, Man. TOMATO JELLY SALAD 1 envelope gelatin 1 tablespoon grated onion lf cup cold water 11% cups diced or shredded vegetables _ 1% cups tomato juice 1 tablespoon mild vinegar Season tomato juice with a little salt and pepper. Heat to boiling point. Add gelatin which has been softened in the cold water, stir until dissolved. Add vinegar and grated onion. Cool. When it begins to thicken fold in vegetables. Turn into cold wet mold. Chill. When firm unmold on salad greens and serve with Marr’s Old Fashion Boiled Salad Dressing. Mrs. G. Scott, Glenella, Man. FROZEN TOMATO: SALAD 4 cups tomato juice 2 teaspoons salt 2 teaspoons lemon juice 1 teaspoon grated onion 4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 3 egg whites Mix the tomato juice, the salt, lemon juice, onion and Worcester- shire sauce and pour into a tray of electric refrigerator or into a freezer. Freeze until it is of a mushy consistency. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into the tomato mixture and return to yg compartment until firm enough to hold its shape. Lift out spoonfuls and pile into lettuce cups. Garnish with wedges of pe tomatoes. Serve with either Marr’s Old Fashion Boiled Salad Dressing or Marr’s Wonder Whip Salad Dressing according to taste.
