Some chewy, some fudgelike—all favorites. Keep a supply on hand. Apple Sandwich Cookies Cream shortening, add sugar and ROGERS’ GOLDEN SYRUP gradually. Beat until light and fluffy. Add well beaten eggs and blend thoroughly. Fold in flour, which has been sifted with salt and baking powder. Chill dough well. Roll thin on slightly floured board; cut in 3-inch rounds. Baked on lightly greased baking sheet 10 to 12 minutes at 350°F, or until nicely browned. While still warm put together in pairs with following filling: 3 medium apples, grated 1 cup ROGERS’ GOLDEN SYRUP * 1 lemon, juice and grated rind. Puffed Rice Crisps Boil all ingredients, except puffed rice, to 240°F, or until a little will be brittle when dropped into cold water. Mix with puffed rice and pour into greased pans to cool.
