BUTTER SCOTCH STICKS %c. butter 1 ec. brown sugar 1 egg 14 ¢. cut cherries 14 ec, fine cocoanut 1 ce. sifted flour 1% tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla Melt butter, add sugar, remove from fire and cool until lukewarm. Add beaten egg and mix well. Add flour, saft and baking powder, then nuts and vanilla. Spread mixture on a well-greased shallow pan. Bake 30 minutes in 400°F.. oven. While hot cut into strips. DADS COOKIES c. rolled oats tsp. ginger tsp. allspice c. butter tsp. syrup or honey 2 ce. flour 2 tsp. soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1% c, sugar z eggs 1 ec. cocoanut Cream butter and sugar. SD mt eet DO OO RICH ALMOND COOKIES 1 ec. shortening 1 ec. white sugar 1 tsp. almond flavouring 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs separated 2 ee. blanched almonds (ground) 224 ce. sifted flour 1 tsp. salt 1% tsp. baking powder 60 blanched half almonds Cream together shortening, sugar and flavouring. Add unbeaten egg yolks, beat till light. Add ground almonds, sifted flour, salt and baking powder. Shape into small balls. Dip in unbeaten egg whites. MERINGUES 5 egg whites beaten stiff 1 ce. granulated sugar Beat egg whites and fold in sugar. Put 1 tablespoon full on shiny side of brown paper and bake for 50 minutes at 300°F.
