ONE BOWL CHOCOLATE CAKE 1 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. shortening 1/2 c. Fry's cocoa 1 1/2 c. buttermilk or 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour sweet milk 1 1/2 tsp. soda 2 eggs ltsp. salt l tsp. vanilla Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease two 8 inch cake pans and dust with Fry's cocoa. Measure all ingredients into large bowl. Blend. Beat 3 minutes on medium mixer speed, scraping bowl often, or 150 strokes per minute by hand. Pour into pans and bake 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tests are done. Remove from pans and cool. Mrs. T. Corbett DREAM CAKE Base: lc. flour 1/2 c. soft butter or margarine 1/4 c. brown sugar Mix until crumbly like pie pastry. Pat in an 8 x 8 inch pan and bake in a moderate oven, 350 degrees, until lightly browned. Topping: 2 eggs, beaten 3 tsp. flour 1 1/4 c.. brown sugar 1/2 c. chopped walnuts 1/2 c. coconut, shredded l tsp. vanilla ltsp. baking powder Beat eggs, add flour, baking powder and other ingredients. Mix well. Spread over base mixture and return to a 275 degree oven for 3/4to 1 hour. Ice while warm. Cut into squares.
