SOUR CREAM CHOCOLATE CAKE Dorothy Smith 2- 1 oz. squares unsweetened chocolate 1/4 c. hot water 3 eggs, separated 1-3/4 c. sifted flour lc. dairy sour cream 1 tsp. soda 1-1/2 c. sugar 1/2 t#0. nit 1 tsp vanilla Melt chocolate in water over low heat. Cool. Beat egg yolks with cream; gradually add sugar and beat vigorously until thick. Add choc-— olate mixture and vanilla, mixing well. Sift dry ingredients together three times and add to cream mixture. Beat until smooth. Fold in egg- whites, stiffly beaten. Bake in paper-lined 9x13x2" pan in moderate oven (350F) 45/50 min. Beat in sugar gradually. Sift dry ingredients and stir in alternately with combined sour cream and vanilla. Pour into greased and lined 8x8x2" pan. Bake at 350F for about 35 min. |
