Cherry and Walnut Squares (Cont.)

Adds
1/2 cup glazed chopped cherries 1 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup cocoanut 1 tsp. vanilla

Spread over baked bottom and bake at 375 degrees for 30 min-
utes. |

Raisin Squares | ; ae Ee Bitschy

Cook until thickened:

1 1/2 cups raisins | 3/4 cup white sugar
2 tbsp. flour 1 cup boiling water

Set aside while you mix:

2 cups flour 1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup white sugar | cup butter or margarine
1 egg

Divide in half. Pack first half in pan; cover with raisins;
cover with second half. Bake at 475 degrees.

5 cups flour | | 1/2 1b. almonds

2 cups butter | 1 tsp. baking powder

4 cups raisins 9 eges

1/2 1b. cherries 1/2 1b. peel

1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 1b. fruit cake mix

2 cups white sugar Rind and juice of one
lemon

Cream butter, add sugar. Beat eggs; add flour and fruit.
Bake about 2 hours at 275 to 400 degrees.

1/2 cup butter Boil for a minute

1 cup walnuts vanilla

When cool cover with a butter icing.
