GINGER COOKIES ¥%, cup shortening ] tsp. cinnamon 1 cup white sugar Y tsp. salt ] egg beaten 1 tsp. cream of tartar 2 cups flour 2 tsp. soda l tsp. ginger Y4 cup molasses Cream shortening, sugar and egg. Add dry ingredients and molasses. Roll into balls, dip in sugar, place on cookie sheets. Do not press or flatten. Rake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes. Betty McPhee OATMEAL COOKIES (NO EGGS) 1 cup shortening or margarine 3 cups oatmeal 1 cup brown sugar 1 tsp. soda 1] cup flour %4 cup boiling water Combine shortening or margarine, brown sugar, flour and oatmeal.
