TOMATO SOUP CAKE Mrs. Laura Armstrong. 1¥4-cups flour. 4,-tsp. nutmeg. 1 tsp. soda. 1 cup brown sugar. 1 tsp. baking powder. 1 egg. 4-tsp. salt. 1 can tomato soup. 1 tsp. cinnamon. ,-cup walnuts (optional). 14-cup butter, shortening or ,-cup raisins. margarine. Sift flour 3 times, add salt, baking powder and spices and sift together. Cream shortening, add sugar gradually continuing to cream, add egg and beat well. Fold in dry ingredients alternately with soup. Add nuts and raisins last. Bake in a greased cake pan at 350° for 45-60 minutes. YANKY FRUIT CAKE Mrs. G. V. Kinch, Sintaluta. 1 cup raisins. ',-tsp. mixed spice. 1 cup currants. 14-tsp. salt. 1 cup brown sugar. 1 tsp. baking soda. 1 cup butter. 2 cups flour. 1 cup sour milk. 2 cups flour. ,-tsp. cinnamon. 2 eggs. Put soda in sour milk, stir, add well-beaten eggs, flour; mix together and bake 1% hour at 350°. YUM YUM CAKE Mrs. W. Ferguson. 1 cup brown sugar. Pinch salt. 14-cup butter. 1 cup chopped walnuts. 2 eggs. Y,-tsp. nutmeg. 1 cup buttermilk. 1 tsp. cinnamon. 1 tsp. baking soda. 2 cups flour. Cream butter, add sugar. Mix well. Add eggs and beat well. Add soda to buttermilk. Sift spices, flour and salt. Add buttermilk alternately with dry ingredients. Add nuts. Bake in 350° oven for 45-60 minutes.
